History
During the period between 1966 and 1972 the two US auto giants Ford and General Motors came head to head in a US race series called TransAm, however in later years this rivalry was more accurately expressed under the heading of The Pony Car Wars. The chief auto adversaries were the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro, which are the subjects of two new models from Scalextric. Both the Camaro and Mustang are equally matched for the new Pony Wars Challenge, as each model is complete with a full-length driver, adjustable traction magnet, sidewinder motor and self-centering guide blade.
Originally driven by Gary Matthews in 1972 Mid-Ohio race, the 1970 Ford Mustang is campaigning in the Historic TransAm race series in North America driven by Michael Martin.
