The Scalextric model
This special edition of 5050 models of the Ferrari 375 feature a tinplate body to complement the tinplate bodied Maserati 250F in our C2782A 50th Anniversary set. The Ferrari 375 was one of the first two Scalextric cars ever made. This model demonstrates the evolution of Scalextric over the past 50 years. Excellent build quality and attention to detail is to the normal high standard. The quality of the printed decoration is excellent as always.
History:
Dorino Serafini, born in Italy in 1909, began his career racing motorcycles, but later moved to four wheels, participating in just one World Championship Grand Prix on home soil in Italy, in a shared drive with Alberto Ascari in the Ferrari 375 F1 in 1950.
Serafini drove the number 6 Ferrari 340 F1, an early incarnation of the 375 F1, at Barcelona, Spain, in October 1950.
