On Sunday 24th June, Lizzie Armitstead, Hornby's London 2012 Brand Ambassador, will continue her preparations for the Olympic Games by competing in the National Road Race Championships. This year’s event is being held in the North Yorkshire town of Ampleforth.
Lizzie won the National Road Race Championship in 2011 and will be hoping for a good result ahead of the Olympic Road Race on 29th July where she is seen as one of the favourites for a medal.
Hornby has created a special London 2012 range to commemorate the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
With the brand new Scalextric Velodrome Cycling Set racers can take up the challenge of being the next Lizzie Armitstead as they compete on a miniature version of the actual Olympic track!
The set follows the traditional slot racing format, but instead of using cars, there are two miniature cyclists dressed in GB kits.
Cycling fans have plenty of choice from our range Corgi die-cast models inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games.
