Singapore Scalextric Championship 2007/2008
Join the Scalextric competition in Singapore.
Here's the running report on all the Scalextric races held at the Singapore shop Hobby Bounties.
Race 4 Scalextrics F1 Car Racing Competiton
25th May 2008
Melvin Ong beat Ethin Sim in the final of the May F1 race.
Race 3 Scalextrics F1 Car Racing Competition
8th March2008
F1 racing without magnets is a test of skill. Controlling the tail slides with the high revving engines is a task which calls upon your understanding of physics and your best skill in how to sensitively drive a car round a circuit with losing pace in time sapping tail slides. Ashley, a previous winner, showed the racers how to do this most efficiently and rose triumphant against John.
If you haven't tried non-magnet racing I recommend you remove the magnet and fit Sport Plus tyres. It is much more rewarding and satisfying.
Race 2
30th December 2007
We had our first Scalextrics F1 Car Racing competition on Sunday, 30th December 2007 from 2 - 5pm. There were 25 of us, with 10 participated in the race.
After we had all the participants arrive at Hobby Bounties (Fengshan Community Club at 20 Bedok North Street 2, #03-08, and scrutinised the race F1 cars, we did the ranking which was the timing of 10 laps. Then it was afternoon tea before the actual race, which was a knock out race based on ranking.
The winner was Ashley Ling(Age10), the teenage who won the Speed Rivals set (sponsored by Scalextrics) ; Lee Sutton (age 5 ) was second winning the McLaren F1 car, and Hannah Veaseys (age 8 ) came third winning the Renault F1 car. All in all, there was a lot of fun.
