Team Scalextric, Scalextric’s real life racing team had an exciting day of competition at Snetterton in the MINI Challenge. The race saw some aggressive driving with Team Scalextric suffering the worst incident, when team member Patrick Mortimer’s MINI JCW was catapulted in to the air at 120mph.
Thankfully, Patrick survived to tell the tale, however his car might not. With damage to nearly every part of the car, it remains to be seen if Patrick’s MINI will see another race!
Behind the scenes, Team Scalextric members watched anxiously as Patrick’s car was towed back to the pits after the horrific smash.
It was not all bad news for Team Scalextric. Adrian Norman remains in 4th place in his class and 9th place over all after fending off arch-rival Mike Philips. Team Scalextric still shows all the signs of a top three position, with Adrian Norman’s skilful driving edging the team further up the championship chart!

Scalextric and Mini fans can follow the action over the summer on Facebook, Twitter @Scalextric and #TeamScalextric, YouTube and Flickr with minute-by-minute live updates and video clips bringing the Scalextric toy to life! The Mini Challenge will also be televised on Mini TV online and MotorsTV with full Team Scalextric coverage online at www.scalextric.com/teamscalextric.
Team Scalextric’s next race is on 28th July at Oulton Park.
