The Liverpool area Police used the Mini Cooper for road duties in the 1960s including this car - SKF 609G.
The Liverpool force registered 27 Mini Coopers each year between 1966 and 1971. At any one time they had 54 of these cars on the road. Mini Cooper police cars would have had a very hard life and at the end of their service were popular purchases for people who wanted to take them rallying.
