Wireless Hand Controllers

I have a track laid out on a table measuring 11ft by 11ft.

The track itself is fully digital and has most (if not all) the specialist pieces of track Scalextric sells. I have wanted this since childhood and I am incredibly happy with it.

There is however one problem - wires everywhere.

I regularly have 5 friends over and we race for hours at a time. When a car comes off the track, it is a major headache to get around to it to put it back on. We try to position ourselves around the table to help out, but even with controller cable extensions it is a right pain, with wires everywhere.

My question is:  Are there any plans to develop 'Wireless Hand Controllers' ?

If they were available I would snap them up straight away.

If you can buy a games console with plug in controllers using many function buttons and have wireless alternatives what is the real problem with Scalextric. I appreciate each controller would need a plug in base unit to communicate with but surely it would not be so difficult to do. For goodness sake the controllers have just one analogue input axis and two buttons!

I look back and see how long ARC Pro has been talked about, why not employ the right people to take the technology forward. The C7042 is an antique of the digital world at launch and while it does a job and I have one, the screen and interface is a laugh. I would not put any money on ARC Pro ever making it to launch.

Wireless is not the future it is the present and the past. - Scalextric just can't keep up!

Will I get an Arc Pro if it does come out - No.  I want wireless controllers for base units already out there not a another completely new system that is going to be dated anyway.
