Future Cars Wishlist

Hello all,

I thought I'd start a new thread to give our favourite manufacturer some ideas of our future cars wish list. This has probably been covered before but ah well. Here goes with some of my ideas

Movie Muscle Cars

Knight Rider KITT. (Scalextric released this many many years ago but it is begging for a retool with flashing red strobe)

Smokey and the Bandit Trans AM

Superlight

Ariel Atom please

GT3

The new Ford GT

Le Mans

Any new prototypes would be appreciated. Every other manufacturer has done the Audi R18 but no one has done a Porsche or a Nissan or any other recent prototype.

Street

Personally I'd love to see an Aston Martin DB11 in my collection

Any other ideas?

Dave

Next year Scalextric will be 60 years old. This is what they can give us their loyal customers to celebrate the event.

I would like Scalextric to remake the cars from their 1962 Vintage Motor Racing set V3. That is the 4 1/2 - litre Bentleys. Also the Alfa Romeo 8C-2300. I would buy these even before they left the factory!

A remake of the Bugatti type 59 and the 1936 Auto Union C type would look beautiful together. Again Scalextric would get my preorder immediately.!

Richard,

Are those the same cars that were re-tooled in the early 90s? The power and the glory cars? I agree though that they'd look great built with today's techniques. Alternatively we could just rob a bank and go for the originals, well over £1000 on eBay!

Another one for my list would be the Aston Martin DBR1. Scaley built some years ago that were exclusive to Toys R us but these too would benefit from the modern tooling

Dave,

I am not sure if they did a re-tool of the 4 1/2 - litre Bentley, Alfa Romeo 8C-2300, Bugatti type 59, Auto Union C type. but here are some photos of the cars

I totally agree with the remake of the Aston Martin DBR1.

I am ready to buy these immediately before production starts. Scalextric can use our advance payments to fund the design and production phase.

Given the recent releases of earlier Tyrrells from the Jackie Stewart era, I would love to assume Jackie's final championship drive, the 006, would be a possible/probable for 2017 ?   If anyone has any intel, please share. Otherwise, I am tempted to sacrifice a McLaren M23 for a scratchbuild!

Thanks

Mid to late 70s F1 please:

Lotus 79 in JPS and Martini colours.

Brabham BT45.

Tyrrell P34.

McLaren M23 in high air box versions.

I don't think anyone has made affordable (or good for the P34) versions of these iconic F1s.

And please get the Ferrari licence back! Need to see 312B, B2, T3, T4 etc.

Triumph Dolomite Sprint - loads of paint job options for BSCC, ATCC and rally Including championship winning Andy Rouse versions.

TR7 V8.

Release the Lancia Delta Martini as a solo car.

And in the unlikely list - Hillman Avenger and Imp from the BSCC.

cheers.

Flyboy, completely agree about the E-Type, but for me it'd have to be in classic British Racing Green. So many manufacturers have made coupe versions but no one has made a recent topless model. I'm pretty sure there's an airfix kit of it though so maybe Hornby could use the tooling for a scalextric one...?

  • 3 weeks later...

I've also been hoping for a while that we would get a Jenson Button McLaren Honda to partner with Alonso's C3705. Now that it is very unlikely that Jenson will drive another F1 after this season, how about a special edition Jenson's last McLaren? Or even better a 3 car set featuring his debut Williams, his championship winning Brawn and the McLaren..

Nice topic guys, I'll diverge a little bit though... What about 2 and 4 car sets you would like to see? For me, I would absolutely love a big Goodwood revival set complete with vintage GTs, single seaters or even the Austin A30s. Add to that a few of the goodwood buildings/ chicane coming back having been retooled and I would be in clover!

For cars, what about Pat Moss's Healey from her 4th in the liege rally. Classic car, great result in one of the toughest races there was.

What a topic! Admitting to a certain bias here and agreeing to the TR sports cars, Triumph Vitesse (still got my 1967 Mk1), Dolomite Sprint - especially in the BL racing colours and definitely the TR7V8 - one of the best cars I have ever driven in 1:1 - and I only had 160bhp in mine.

F1 from the 60s - especially BRM - any BRM!
