You can add pictures but the admin has to approve them.

In general, no monetary transactions of any kind are allowed to take place on this forum as that would require the exchange of personal information and that is prohibited under the current guidelines.

Having said that, asking the value of a collection is not strictly against the rules.

Nevertheless, having been around the scene for a few years I can tell you that there are no said and fast rules for what something is "worth". The old adage is still true: Whatever someone is willing to pay.

I have often gotten cars for 1€ a piece. I have seen the same car go for 10-20€. I have seen cars go for 100 to 200 €.

I personally don't believe in spending any more than 30€ on a used (i.e. with now packaging, signs of wear etc.) car as I just find that decadent, but that is me.

As gorp said, though he could have worded it more nicely (that is a warning) you have to watch similar items over a long period and decide for yourself.

Prices before and after Christmas always go up for example.

seriously surprised anyone would really go to any forum before getting a price check at ebay

That's the whole point of forums, finding out things on a subject that's common to people on it ....not just random people on e bay asking prices without the knowledge of true value ......

Besides ignoring the many actual businesses on ebay and other sites they operate on usually under another name, you also seem to want to ignore the fact that people on forums generally get their value info from the same sites and their histories of most items.

A general search on the net will show items too and usually bring you back to auctions in one form or another and to the retail sellers and the interest of buyers to the item.

Yes some forums have more facts on what someone once paid or who has searched worldwide for some widzet but also the retail shops looking for inventory to sell at their shops and their auctions at other sites.

True value is what someone is willing to pay.

Old stuff has new problems to solve via cash and maybe will not interest anyone other than collectors of that kind of items from the brand.

So if you want imput from a few, stick to your forum only plan.

But if you want true value, welcome to world wide web.
