BTCC Ford Sierra RS500 - Steve Soper, Brands Hatch 1988

Race: BTCC 1988 Brands Hatch

Driver: Steve Soper

Steve Soper finished 2nd at Brands Hatch in the 1988 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), behind rival Andy Rouse. Overall Steve finished 15th due to a combination of entering less than half of the races that year, with one being cancelled (where he had pole position). Of those races he entered, Steve achieved some fantastic results (one first, two second places and one DNS).

Guide and tyres.

The new guide depth certainly keeps the car in the slot but seems a bit too long as it clicks on the cross ribs at the bottom of the slot. Maybe 6.5 mm would be better. The tyres however are excellent it seems that they are a different compound to the previous PCR models and certainly give more grip. Overall an excellent model , well done Scalextric !!

Eggenberger Cossie

Nice model, chrome on wheels a bit too bright/glitzy. Looking forward to getting the Bathurst Dick Johnson car to pitch against! MUCH better models than the original Sierras which I never bothered with, delighted to see so many well know cars from my youth, well done!
