It also said that the ARC PRO would not allow analog operation (I was a but confoudned by that but if it is on the Internet it must be true !!! {just kidding})Please, please please let ARC AIR have Ghost /Pacer cars. Chris99 Posted February 23, 2015 Share Posted February 23, 2015 +1 for analogue mode option on ARC Pro even though it was not originally planned. I use analogue mode on the C7042 APB most of the time as it is convenient not having to swap powerbases in and out. Critically, it allows use of the much better Scalextric and 3rd party throttle controllers like Truspeed with unchipped cars. Having said that, C7042 analogue mode is not perfect - it uses a pulsing method to emulate DC voltage (PWM) which doesn't seem to be perfectly implemented. At 100% trigger, my understanding is that you should get 100% PWM i.e. a smooth ca 12volts. This is not the case and with several other motors like Ninco, SCX & NSR and most higher rpm motors, including Scalextric coloured ones @25k & 30k, you get a pulsing at high revs. You don't normally notice this on the track, but with some lower rpm motors like SCX & Ninco, for example, above ca 70% throttle the car doesn't accelerate and actually slows a little. I've also had pulsing issues with high rpm motors at low speeds making the cars undriveable. So, analogue mode option is a must for ARC Pro, but it needs to be properly implemented to avoid the issues mentioned above. It would also be useful if dynamic braking was made to work on chipped cars running in analogue mode and their power was not reduced, as is the case with the C7042. I have 6 analogue cars that I want to solder the chips in to, but if there is a new generation of digital gear on the way I don't want to have to re-chip them all in a years time with a newer type. ZspaceEOD Posted November 12, 2015 Share Posted November 12, 2015 Count me in on this, too.I intend to purchase a new digital set, and the supplier I am looking at has suitable sets (space is an issue) which have the Pit Lane Game included ... but the ARC app has a much superior facility using it's own 'pit lane' ... so do I get a set with the Pit Lane Game, or ask for just the pit lane track in order to accomodate the ARC PRO when it appears ?Some clarification of what the ARC PRO will do and when it's likely to appear would be appreciated. Popiet Posted December 18, 2015 Share Posted December 18, 2015 Hi,I no more believe in ARC PRO in 2016, there is a huge difference between ARC AIR and ARC PRO (Digital, impossible to PIT on dedicated lanes, Power Management, ...).I will finish my personal static big track early in 2016, and I decided not to wait for the ARC PRO.I bought the platinum set (with C7042) and there are already many pleasure using it if you connect it to a laptop with proper software and pitstop (Only missing Pit Lane Deluxe Pro for defintively enjoy it).I do not congratulate Scalextric for this so long wait for these "new" features.Hope I am wrong and this new embase will come soon, but unfortunatly I think we will be at the same status in 12 months. I can only assume that either, theye can't focus on more than 1 thing at a time or they are having some serious issues with hardware or software. Why not announce it at the same time as ARC Air? Posted January 1, 2016 Share Posted January 1, 2016 I am not sure what are you guys trying to acheive by suggesting that Scalextric is lazy and demanding that they simply repeat teh same answer they have given many many times over?Waiting is not fun but if you take the time to look at all the responses to date you will see that they are working on it.There are 7 people working at Hornby on Scalextric. SEVEN.That isn't even a football team.The old adage always applies: Good, Fast Cheap: Pick two.With only 7 people and the large pallett of products they are trying to produce the simply can't restate what they have said many times over. They don't have the bandwidth.ARC AIR and ARC PRO when it comes out will be more advanced than just about anything else on the market and I would rather have something that works and has been properly tested than have something that doesn't work because a few people simply can't be patient.Yes ARC AIR came out much later than planned but it is better than what I expected. Pit Pro Deluxe, ...) that brings to scalextric all features that it does not have but it lies on only few people.I cross my fingers that they will release as soon as possible ARC Pro not for me, but for them.As I said previously, I am under building a static track in my garage and just bought Pit Pro Deluxe in order to be complete in my configuration.Except no wired controllers I have all I want and ARC Pro should be very efficient to make me buy it in a near future.
