SARC PRO Platinum GT Set

So when I am finally ready to get this set, can't seem to find them anywhere.. in like the world, apparently. Found one on eBay but the shipping was weird, so suspect really far away from me here in the US.

Is there any news regarding when these kits will be available? Would anyone recommend I get the smaller ARC PRO set and then build from there?

The ARC Pro Platinum set is still available in the UK. Jadlams ship worldwide: https://www.jadlamracingmodels.com/scalextric-set-c1374-arc-pro-platinum-set/ You could contact Scalextric USA directly to see if they are aware of any sets available in North America or can advise on when the set might be restocked. Mainline Hobbies in Philly had Platinum sets in stock when I visited a few months ago, but the set is now marked out of stock on their website.

Yes, you could also get the a smaller ARC Pro set - the 3-car Sunset Speedway or the new 2-car GT set due later this year. To upgrade to the Platinum spec, you will need to add an extra power supply to those sets, plus extra controllers and cars. More lane changers and track are never a bad idea either. Although the Platinum set is probably the best value, getting a smaller set does mean a lower initial outlay and then you can add the extras as you need them and can afford them.

Thank you Sir for the link. I tried ordering it but ran into problems when their system learned I was in the US. I was asked to send an email, which I did. We will see what happens.

Update: Per Scalextric, they are discontinuing this set and no longer producing them. Here is a copy and paste of the email:

"Hi XXXX,

Thank you for the inquiry and interest in our product line. The C1374t track set is sold out as of March 2018 and has been discontinued. Your only possibility would be if a dealer may still have one in stock

My apologies that I do not have a better answer for you.

Kind regards,

Arvids Breikss"

I looked at a couple of US retailers I know and have used and found the set in the Pacific Northwest: http://www.132slotcar.us/store/product_info.php?cPath=21_32&products_id=7306

It’s not unusual for the Scalextric store to be out of stock of sets that have been discontinued but for plenty of sets to still be available with retailers. Although the Platinum set is slowly disappearing, searching “Scalextric C1374” I found sets in stock around the world - UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, France, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Belgium.

If 132slotcar.us doesn’t work out, scroll through the list of North American retailers via the ”Stockists” link in the header of this page and contact them directly. Not all have an active web store. Good luck!

OK - so i bought this set in October of 17, wanted to get one that had most of what i wanted, and that i could add to.   I recommended it to a friend, and now from this chain see it is discontinued - anyone know why?  Were there any issues with it?

Just curious.

It is an excellent set and superb value for money. There are no issues that I am aware of. All sets have a limited lifespan and when the Platinum GT sets are gone from retailers, that's it. However, I did find sets in stock in pretty much every corner of the earth when I searched earlier.

There are two ARC Pro sets in the catalogue this year - the three car Sunset Speedway set and the two-car 24 hour Le Mans set. These keep things fresh and also have a lower price point, which might be something that Scalextric were concerned about. As I said ealier, it's easy to upgrade these sets to a full six-car spec.

Thank you again for the help. My concern in buying a set overseas was the difference in voltage/plugs, I just went with the smaller kit. My suspicion is that very few people wanted to buy a set for over $600.00 retail. I saw a lot of deals on the sets but they were all out of stock. I get it that the sets are kept fresh and new. I was more wanting the system and after doing a bit of research, I am glad I went with the smaller set. I plan to make a more permanent track in my garage in 4'x10' configuration. I am looking forward to referencing the information on this website. Thank you!
