Hi Deluxe4 and welcome to the forum!
Turn the device and the power base completely off and on (restart) and try again.
Delete the app and turn it on and off and reinstall and try again.
Check if there is an operating system update.
Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around that mught be causing interference.
If you can, try with a different device and see if it works.
