Guide Blade advice

Hi,

I have the modern sport track, which I understand has a deeper guide slot than that on the older classic track. I have aquired a couple of classic track cars, namely a made in England Audi A4 Quattro and a Chinese made Vauxhall Calibre. Is it possible to swop to the modern deeper guide blade on these cars?. I have yet to try them on sport track as they are, I assume they will work but will just come off the track easier than modern cars.

The Calibre has two magnets in circular bosses clearly seen on the underside of the car. these show clear signs of having made contact with the track. The tops have wear and tear. I do not want these to to rub on my new sport track. I suspect this wear might be due to the old classic track they were used on being like a Derbyshire council road (I.E. not very flat or smooth). Has anyone any experience of running this style of car on sport track. If it proves necessary I will dress the magnets down to provide more clearance. I do not want to damage the track so a small loss of magnetic force is acceptable to me.  Cheers Ian

I habe some NASCARs that have the two button magents behind the motor.

The front axle had a ton of play that I shimmed with piece of plastic I have laying aroung.

I added weight behind the guide as well and brand new, trued and sanded tires went a looong way to making them drivable.

For home tracks I don't think the added 2-3 mm will make a huge difference but there a ton of after market, deeper guides out there.
