New issue with the same car....whilst trying to test it, one of the cables has come off the plug that attaches to the digital board. Any suggestions how to repair it. Is there a tool to push out the pins and then fit a new pin to the cable and push back in.....one step forward....2 steps back...aarg!!!

hi, so your first paragraph is correct..

You've checked continuity from the braid to the connector that attaches to the chip and from the connector that comes from the chip to the motor. And the chip works fine in the other car. Is that all correct?

So are you suggesting putting in a shorting plug into the plug that normally connects to the board. ie shorting out the yellow to the red and the green to the black and then connect a 9v battery to the braid and the motor should run?

There is a DPR trap door but nowhere to short out the plug that goes into the board but I guess I can just get a few small bits of wire. Is this correct?

Hi again,

so the car did previously work and was working before it was put away last time. The Bugatti doesn't have working headlight, so it is only the track chip inside, (connector with green, yellow, black and red cables). I have checked continuity between the braid and the green cable at the connector and also the same with the yellow and the braid. These seem fine and there is no continuity between the Y&G with the plug disconnected. I think this eliminates your suggestion.

I have also checked the continuity between the B&R which go to the motor with the plug disconnected and there is continuity between the two when tested at the disconnected plug.

I really appreciate the help.

@woodcote

Thanks for the welcome and the advice.

You are right about the checks I have done. We have a 4-car powerbase. The scalextic is 'Digital Supercars with 2 x Bugattis, so I think it is the basic 4 car powerbase.

You will need to follow the instructions that come with your digital set or powerbase to do this.

Are you refering to holding the button until it flashes twice as this is what it advises to do if you want to register the car with another controller.

So to clarify, both controllers can control one of the cars (when registered to that controller, independantly of course), no controllers have any input to the other car. "nd car is dead on track but first carcan be controlled with either controller.

Hi, looking for some advice regarding an issue with a digital car. The car doesn't seem to register on the track. I have changed the light source board with another and it worked fine in the other car. The motor is fine too as I managed to get that to go bu connecting power directly to it. I have continuity checked the cables and all seems well there too.

Anyone got any pointers?
